Beauty Brand Review: Etude House

Beauty Brand Review: Etude House

The Korean beauty market is currently taking over the beauty world, but the problem is where to even start. If you're interested in exploring Korean makeup, my first recommendation would be to try Etude House products! Known for their cute, princess-like package, Etude House has taken over Asia like a storm. They have stores in China, Taiwan, Japan, and even the Philippines. Many of the makeup is sponsored by Korean pop stars, attracting both the younger generation and foreign tourists. But what ultimately makes Etude House products so great is their high quality and cheap price!

Here are some of the products I recommend trying:
Precious Mineral Any Cushion BB Cream

You may have noticed a greater abundance of cushion foundation in makeup stores nowadays. This beauty item was first popularized and gained traction in South Korea!  The precious Mineral Any Cushion is currently one of the most popular Cushion BB Creams in the market. What I love about this product is that you can carry around your foundation and reapply throughout the day without worrying about bringing a mirror or an extra sponge. Also, once you run out of the product, you can always buy refills, making it very convenient to have around.

Lip Tint

Another staple of the Korean makeup routine is applying lip tint! Lip tint is perfect for anyone in school or in the office, because you don't have to worry about reapplying throughout the day. Etude House provides a variety of formulas, but I personally prefer the stick version, because I can more easily control the amount of product that goes onto my lips. I also find that these are more moisturizing and will keep your lips hydrated throughout the day. Cherry is one of the most popular colors in Korea, but I would also recommend orange and peach for a more every-day wearable color.

Eyeshadows

If you don't want to splurge on Urban Decay's eyeshadows, Etude House's eyeshadows are a great dupe! I have two palettes from them, and what I found is that they have great pigmentation and last a long time. They also sell single eyeshadows, but I find that the palettes are more convenient to have when traveling. Over spring break, I purchased the Play Color Eyes In The Cafe palette (pictured), and it's probably the best beauty investment I made recently. The colors are easily transferrable from day to night, and it's a great dupe for the Naked palette!

Nail Polish

Finding a nail polish that is cheap yet won't chip is so hard. One time when I was in Korea, I randomly picked up some Etude House nail polish because they were having a 1+1 sale. I realized that these polishes were my solution. They come in a variety of color and dry easily. While I was going about my daily routine, I noticed that I had no chipping even without a base or top coat. Also, I like how the bottles are small, because I never finish an entire bottle without it going bad, so I feel I'm not wasting any product.

Wonder Pore Freshner

Not only is Korean makeup gaining attention, skincare is creating a huge beauty wave as well! Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshner is one of their best sellers. Its main purpose is to help balance pH levels in the skin, preventing skin troubles caused by imbalances. This product is simple and easy to use as all you need is to press a cotton pad on the top of the bottle. The pad will become soaked with the product, and you don't have to worry about spilling. Apply the product twice a day, morning and night, after cleansing and putting on your other skincare products.
