Where & Wear: Juno
It's hard to find high quality sushi in Chicago, but Juno knocks it out of the ballpark. My favorite sushi restaurant in Chicago, Juno offers the freshest fish--Eater has even called it one of the "21 Best Sushi Restaurants in America."
While on the pricier side, Juno is worth it. Their nigiri are soft and fresh on a bed of warm rice, and their specialty maki (sushi and raw vegetables wrapped in seaweed) are one of a kind.
Their portions are on the smaller side but perfect for sharing. For hot food, I recommend the confit chicken wings as well as the beef ramen. If you're craving nigiri, try their chutoro (medium fatty tuna), hamachi (yellowtail), hirame (fluke), and sake (salmon). As for the maki, the spicy tako offers a perfect kick to your palette.
Juno is dimly lit, making it the perfect romantic spot. There's no need to get too dressy for the occasion though. A turtleneck such as this one from Vince or a v-neck bodysuit from Maje paired with some comfy pants, and you're good to go!
