London Fashion Week 2017

London Fashion Week 2017

London Fashion Week has always been a hotbed of experimentation, but this season the city took a surprising turn, honing in on both the carefree and sophisticated elements of English dressing. From looks perfect for frolicking in the muddy fields at Glastonbury to ensembles seemingly lifted straight from a Jane Austen novel, keep reading for our favorite collections.

Topshop Unique

Color reigned supreme at Topshop Unique's latest presentation. Playful floral prints and psychedelic stripes were paired with jewel-tone reds, blues and yellows and muted by sparing accessories and oversize coats. The label's vision of fall/winter dressing clearly calls for the incorporation of your favorite warm weather staples (think slip skirts and summer dresses) as long as the layering is systematic.

Simone Rocha

Simone Rocha's darkly romantic aesthetic vision always seems to hit its full stride with her fall/winter collections. Lush fur coats, Victorian-style lace dresses and the playful reoccurrence of her signature red floral motif imbued each look with an artfully aristocratic feel.

Erdem

Sophisticated silhouettes, ethereal prints and expert tailoring culminated in Erdem's latest presentation. Emerald greens, ruby reds and rich violets in an array of satin and silk finishes adorned many of the looks, creating an atmosphere of refined, stately glamour.

Burberry

Burberry took a distinctive turn from its traditional posh-preppy roots, exploring a more romantic and rugged aesthetic through a palette of warm neutrals and sky blues, lace and deconstructed interpretations of their signature suiting and Burberry trench. Personally speaking, we love this new creative direction Christopher Bailey has taken!
