MODA Blog's Holy Grail Products: Kardelen

Every product junkie knows that the ultimate reason behind racking up drawers and drawers of new lipsticks, concealers, powders, etc., is to find a holy grail. Holy grail products are those magical items that are just right–right texture, right color, right finish, right lasting power–and that’s what makes them so difficult to find. In honor of that search, MODA Blog has decided to share some of our holy grail products in a new series. Every week, a different blogger will discuss their three all-time favorite beauty products, which can include anything from makeup to skincare to hair care. We’ll get a peak into the beauty lives of our MODA bloggers and hopefully, discover some new holy grail products of our own.

Whether I am just running to my 8:30 am math class, or getting ready for dinner downtown, these products are the ones I always use and cannot recommend enough! Suitable for the day-to-day usage as well as for looks with a bit more drama, this lineup is one I use without fail.

First up is Chanel's Ecriture de Chanel Automatic Liquid Liner. It goes on smoothly with a sharp, even line. The pigment is rich and stays put throughout the day, and is perfect for creating a dramatic cat eye. The trick for this is to draw your wing first, and then to fill it in. For an evening look , line the waterline with a gel liner. Buy it here .

This is Anastasia's Perfect Brow Pencil, which should go without saying. Anastasia is the authority on brow products, and this product is no exception to their reputation. I use this to both create dramatic arches and to just fill in my brows for a fuller look. For some added pigment, run the stick over your hand to warm the product before applying. Buy it here.

I swear by Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion. If you are ever doing your eye makeup, this is the one product that is a do-not-pass. With this, your makeup will never crease, will be more pigmented, and will stay put for hours (even if you're sleeping in it, a vice I cannot recommend). One tube will last for ages and is essential in anyone's makeup arsenal. Buy it here.

Next up on this list is the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation. I personally do not enjoy wearing foundation, as I find it to be a bit too harsh for my complexion. So instead, I soften the look from this foundation by wetting my BeautyBlender and then applying the product over a moisturizer. This foundation blurs all sorts of blemishes without oxidizing throughout the day. Buy it here!

Let's get down to it: this Urban Decay Naked 3 palette (appearing twice on this list) is a cult favorite for a reason. That is because it is simply one of the best palettes that money can buy. The variety of looks that can be created with this palette are far too great in magnitude to cover in one blog post. I have hit pan on multiple colors in this palette and I absolutely adore every shade in it. If you're gunning for a flawless smoky eye or just a simple soft and rosy look, this palette has you covered. It's also a great way to learn how to start using eyeshadow, as the internet has a trove of tutorials for every kind of look imaginable just using this palette. Also, an added bonus: the brush in it is excellent quality and works very well. The Urban Decay Naked3 Palette can be found right here.
