Look for Less: Vetements

Look for Less: Vetements

For those of you who haven't already hopped on the Vetements street meets chic style revolution, you've been missing out. Headed by the elusive Gvasalia, a veteran of Marc Jacobs, Nicholas Ghesquiere and Maison Martin Margiela, the brand (pronounced vet-mahn, meaning "clothes" in French) launched back in 2014. Since then, it has become a staple in everything from Vogue magazine editorials to skater street culture, a cult favorite amongst fashion world socialites and teenage boys alike.

Don't get what all the hype is about? Vetements barreled onto the fashion scene at a time when a lot of designers were playing it safe. With its gender-bending silhouettes and resistance against the status quo, it's not hard to see how refreshing a Star Wars themed midi skirt or asymmetrically hemmed pair of boyfriend jeans would look on the runway. Keep scrolling for MODA's favorite Vetements inspired looks (that'll fetch for a lot cheaper than the brand's $1000 price tags!).

SHOES + ACCESSORIES

If you want to nail the Vetements look, you can't shy away from the idea of pairing sky high platform boots with athletic socks and a newsboy cap.
