With Rodarte x Universal Standard's Collab, Couture Becomes Size-Inclusive

Rejoice, fashion lovers. Rodarte and Universal Standard have just come out with a collaboration with designs ranging from 00-40, making high fashion that much more inclusive to all shapes and sizes.

The Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte rose to fame after designing the costumes for the movie “Black Swan” and have since delivered us magical collections filled with tulle and ruffles and glitter; always with an avant-garde edge. As a couture brand, however, they do not offer sizes past an 8. Also, couture is hella expensive.

Rodarte’s upcoming collab with Universal Standard seeks to make their brand of femininity more accessible both pricing and sizing wise. The four pieces in the collection range from $150-240 and substitute Universal Standard’s typical bread and butter basics for plenty of rose pink and ruffles.

67% of women wear a size 14 or above, so why are there so few options for them? Our society is failing to recognize a huge market, causing frustration and insecurity for so many women. Universal Standard was created to provide stylish, high quality clothing for every size. They aren’t a “plus size” company, they’re a company that caters to all of us.
