Brands to Know: Axel Arigato
Instagram adverts have become a bit of a personal nuisance. They blend so seamlessly into to my feed that I often think they are from accounts I actually follow - a move that is certainly deliberate on Instagram's part, but confuses me nonetheless. Yet, when an ad popped up last week for a pair of sneakers, I found myself happily intrigued. They were simple, interesting, distinct and refreshing. So I bought into the marketing, clicked on the ad, and fell in love with Axel Arigato.

The brand was established back in 2014 by Swedish designer Max Svardh, and since then their growth has been significant. In 2016, Axel Arigato opened its first flagship store in SoHo, London, and expanded their collection to include a women's line of kicks. The brand then delved into the world of apparel, and now offers an extensive line of clothing (which certainly should not be overlooked). But the star attraction is still the shoes themselves. They use Italian leather, and then handcraft each shoe in Portugal. The pieces are organized based on general style, and then offered in a wide range of colors and textures for each fit (with new editions coming out once a week!).

My ultimate top picks are that top pair (which I just gifted myself). They are bold, fun and surprisingly versatile. My only challenge now is to try and not wear them non-stop.
All I can recommend is that you pounce on this brand before everyone and and their mother knows about it!
