Brands to Know: Perfect Petals
Brand loyalty is definitely a thing for me, but branching out and trying new products usually means something about the brand has really, really convinced me. After talking with Jala Conley, a UChicago student who just started her own line of products called Perfect Petals, I'm sold. The products are simple and the pricing is very affordable!

Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Jala Conley. I am a rising third year at UChicago majoring in Comparative Human Development with a minor in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies. Born and raised in Chicago. I love simple beauty brands like Chapstick because it really moisturizes, Jergen's lotion and Maybelline foundation. I like the simple things that don't cost that much, but they still pack a punch. Of course I also like natural products like the ones I make.

What made you want to start this brand?
I started Perfect Petals because I know from personal experience that I don't enjoy working for others, so I had to come up with some products that would put me into business and make me self-made. Since my mother has already been into natural and organic foods, body butters, toothpaste, and more, I was already had some exposure to the industry, and had experience with natural products. Thus, I knew that I could share my experience and products with anyone willing to listen.

What sort of products are available, and what audience are they intended for?
As for now, the products available include Pretty Lippy, an everyday lip balm that moisturizes and soothes the lips. It is a skin-protectant that also softens and is antioxidant-enriched. We also offer Pretty Kitty, which is a daily vaginal cleansing oil that rejuvenates, calms and refreshes the vagina. It moisturizes the area providing a breezy-sensation. It can also be used to freshen the male genital area as well. The products are very universal!
Petal Butter is an everyday body and face moisturizer that promotes skin elasticity. It is a skin-protectant rich in antioxidants that helps to reduce dark marks, reduce stretch marks and wrinkles, as well as heal scars and provide the skin with necessary minerals. Lastly we have Pretty Salts. Pretty Salts is a bath salt that softens and moisturizes dry skin, helps relax muscles and joints, stimulate circulation and relax the body. There are definitely more products to come though, so stay tuned!

What about your products sets them apart from others?
Well, aside from our products being universal across gender, they are 100% organic and all natural. They are freshly made upon ordering without the use of preservatives or any additives.

Which product is your personal favorite? Any recommendations?
I would have to say that my favorite product is Pretty Kitty since women and men want to feel fresh down there, and I can say that this product gets the job done incredibly well. I personally feel as if I’m a new person every time I use Pretty Kitty and you will too. Try it!
I recommend Pretty Lippy to keep your lips nice and moist, Pretty Salts to soothe the body in a hot bath after a long day at work, and Petal Butter is an essential after every bath or shower.
