Highlights from LFW, MFW and PFW 2016

With NYFW finished, the fashion industry has shifted its gaze overseas to the London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks for another bevy of shows, parties and street style showdowns. From Gucci's sequined, disco themed runway to House of Holland's cheeky, slogan t-shirts, MODA has got you covered on all the stand out moments of European Fashion Month.

1 - House of Holland pays tribute to the supermodel

Ever wanted a shirt that says "Let's Breed Bella Hadid" or "Give Us A Toss Karlie Kloss?" British brand House of Holland has got you covered. After the label's playful parade of gingham frocks and oversized sequin dresses, models donned sunglasses and custom, oversized slogan tees (that ranged from tongue-and-cheek to straight up NSFW) to close the show.

2 - Brit It Girls flock to Burberry

What's a Burberry front row without a string of the brand's past campaign girls, models of the moment, and the best and brightest of UK's film, music and fashion scene? Friends Adwoa Aboah, Cara Delevingne and Lily James were in attendance, as were fashion favorites Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung and Freida Pinto to admire the brocade-filled, darkly romantic ready-to-wear collection.

3 - Ashish heads East

Designer Ashish Gupta has been making fashion headlines lately with his adventurous and quirky take on style, from disco inferno inspired afros to sequined onesies, Ashish's colorful shows never fail to disappoint. This season, the Indian born, British immigrant used his collection–which was largely inspired by Indian culture and dress–to celebrate and honor his roots, a reaction to much of the anti-immigrant sentiment that has been plaguing the UK as of late. His collection serves as testament to the political connotations of fashion and its potential to raise real cultural appreciation and awareness.

4 - Gucci takes us back in time

Leave it to Alessandro Michele, Gucci's creative director extraordinaire, to consistently churn the tides of the fashion industry. From singlehandedly making the 70s cool again to turning your grandmother's old reading glasses into an enviable fashion statement, Michele has propelled Gucci to the forefront of street style and haute couture stardom. This season witnessed everything from tangerine fur coats with zebras emblazoned across the chest, to zorchy 80s dresses reimagined, and ballerina inspired, floor-length tulle skirts.

5 - Fendi's pastel prints party

While Karl Lagerfeld's infinite parade of tweed Chanel suits can get exhaustive, his consistently refreshing and youthful designs for Fendi have quickly re-cemented the brand as a favorite amongst Milan's fashion crowd. Various interpretations of pink pastel frocks, scalloped hems and the pinstripe suit resulted in a quirky collection complete with model darlings Gigi and Bella Hadid, Taylor Hill, Romee Strijd and the like.

6 - Moschino plays dress up

Jeremy Scott found inspiration in paper dolls this season, sending trompe-l'oeil versions of slinky ball gowns, lingerie and handbags parading down the red carpet. While difficult to determine the real from the fake, Scott's commentary on our digital, 2D-obsessed world is thought-provoking nonetheless. Plus, it'd be fun to rock (fake) killer abs for a day.

7 - Stella McCartney balances comfort and style

McCartney's utilitarian inspired ready-to-wear collection was designed to move, as evidenced by the easy statement tees, slouchy fabrics and versatile one pieces she sent down the runway. The energized show finished off with a Conga line and dance circle choreographed by Blanca Li, with models grooving down the runway in McCartney's effortlessly cool looks.

8 - L'Oreal gets gold obsessed

Celebs convened at L'Oreal's "Gold Obsession" Paris Fashion Week party earlier this week, with everyone from brand ambassadors, to supermodels, actresses, designers and socialites dancing the night away against the backdrop of gold, reflective dance floors and walls. Karlie Kloss sported giant swaths of gold eyeshadow, Naomi Campbell has gold bronzer brushed against her cheeks and model Bianca Balti went sans clothing with the exception of a netted, gold and crystal sequined ball gown.

9 - Sacai juggles fashion hybridity

Duality and defiance come hand in hand with Chitose Abe's hard-to-place brand, Sacai. From landing a deal with Nike to potentially becoming the next creative director at Balenciaga, the young Japanese fashion designer has emerged as a leading force in the fashion industry for her brand's sporty yet ephemeral designs. From inverted patterns to ingenious draping, Sacai's latest collection was "a tribute to 'game changers,' dudes like Jimi Hendrix, Pablo Picasso, Kurt Cobain... among other assorted icons of cool" (Vogue).

10 - Maria Grazia Chiuri debuts at Dior

With the dust finally settled from Raf Simons much publicized parting with the French fashion house, ex-Valentino Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, presented her first highly-anticipated collection for Christian Dior this week. With delicately layered tulle interspersed amongst embroidered handbags, visors and boot-sneakers, the collection was the perfect marriage of Dior's recent sleek and sporty leanings, and Chiuri's singular romantic vision.
