Carolina: “Environment, Geography, and Urbanization and Econ”

Nayna: “Psychology , minoring in Visual Arts”

In around two sentences, summarize the major inspiration or influences on your designs.

Carolina and Nayna: “While studying abroad together, we saw a beautiful stained glass piece in a restaurant in Athens that heavily inspired our color palette, bringing us to use deep tones and experiment with complementary colors. Our biggest inspiration was Bob Mackie, specifically from the Cher show -- adding a modern take to his 70's playfulness and experimenting with textures and movement through layering, silhouettes, material types, and reflective details.”

What are the major themes of your designs? Is there anything particular that you are trying to convey?

Carolina and Nayna: “We want to explore the intersection of modern functional clothing and vintage runway couture.”

Anything else you would like to share? about the process, materials, or unexpected changes?

Carolina and Nayna: “We are working together as a team, most inspired when we are creative together. Having been roommates abroad in the fall in Barcelona, we chose to take this project on together.”
