Inspiration We Should be Taking From the Roaring 20s into the 2020s

In the early years of the 2020s, we’ve already seen many strangely coincidental parallels to the 1920s. Both decades began with a pandemic, those being the Spanish flu and COVID-19. Gen Z (the youth of the 2020s) has also frequently been compared to the Lost Generation (the youth of the 1920s) due to their lack of direction and disillusionment with the world. Cigarette Holders

From Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961). Via

From Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). Via

Hemingway and friends in Paris. Via

If Fitzgerald and Hemingway could do it, you can do it too! The first step to writing the next American novel.

Pearl Necklaces

Coco Chanel. Via

From The Great Gatsby (2013). Via

This is already a trend now, but it just feels like they did it better back then…

The Mafia

From Scarface (1983). Via

From Peaky Blinders (2013). Via

Or, at least, Mafia-Core. You might think it’s morally dubious, but think about this: they called Al Capone the “modern-day Robin Hood”, but you don’t really hear the same about investment bankers, do you…
