Trend Forecasting: 2018's Hottest Colour
Something I only recently learned is that hair appointments are the perfect way to keep up to date with fashion. My beloved colourist has better things to do than watch my icy blonde process for an hour, so I spend that time flipping through magazines. And boy did this month have a revelation for me.
Emerald. Everywhere. I felt like Judy Garland in 1939.
From Harper's Bazaar to Marie Claire, the deep jewel tone was featured in spreads throughout all the magazines.
The most ubiquitous representation was a daring Valentino tracksuit set. This hammered satin outfit will set you back almost $4,000, but all's fair in love and luxury athleisure.
Alexandre Vauthier also features the colour in his new S/S18 collection, with metallic boots and wrap dresses, evening out deep tones with shimmer and sheen.
Just to make sure we have all bases covered, Nikos Koulis' V collection is stacked with emerald statement jewelery: bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants, and everything in between.
And there's no need for menswear enthusiasts to feel left out either. Gucci — of course — makes sure you look dapper in a versatile Monaco wool mohair suit.
