That's a Wrap
"Feel like a woman, wear a dress."
According to Diane von Furstenberg, the alleged inventor of the iconic wrap-dress of the 70s, a wrap-dress suits every woman, but what about wrap tops and dresses? We have witnessed the gradual rise of this trend on the shelves of our favourite ready-to-wear stores, and it definitely deserves a second look.

If you've been struggling coming up with chic long-sleeved tops for dressier winter nights, wrap tops are the way to go. Whether it's baggy, kimono-like blouses with deep V cuts or tighter fits that beautifully shape your upper body, wrap tops have the potential to add subtle movement and modernity to your whole look. They are easily the focal point of an outfit, and would look best combined with simpler pants and shoes.

As for occasional purposes, even though they are surely suited for fancy dinners and parties, they can also be used for a dressy-casual look if paired with jeans. Perfectly complementing the waistline and revealing the neck, wrap tops do flatter most bodies, as Mrs. Furstenberg claims.
For a feminine and contemporary touch to your closet, be on the look out for wrap tops next time you go shopping. And that's a wrap.
